Celebrating success with a trip to Hollywood Bowl!
Every year, ComIT invite children from the schools they have worked in to come together for a fun-filled Bowling Trip - a special event to celebrate and strengthen their newly developed speech, language, and communication skills.
This exciting day out is more than just bowling. It’s an opportunity for children to practice communication in real-life settings, build friendships, and gain confidence in expressing themselves. By engaging in team activities and social interaction, they can apply the skills they’ve worked so hard to develop in a supportive and enjoyable environment.
The event brings together families, professionals, and peers, creating a sense of community and shared achievement. Whether it’s cheering on a strike or chatting over lunch, every moment helps reinforce the importance of communication in everyday life.

ComIT - Finalist for the RCSLT (Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists) Awards 2024!
ComIT were delighted to be finalists for a RCSLT award in the Innovative solutions and new ways of working category, in recognition of partnership working to publish a toolkit to support Children and Young People with Developmental Language Disorder (DLD).
ComIT worked in collaboration with ABUHB Speech and Language Therapy, RADLD (Raising awareness of DLD) and Naplic (National association of professionals supporting language and communication) to develop the DLD Bubble Toolkit(opens in new tab) which was launched as part of the DLD awareness day in October 2023.
Mary Jo Spearey (ComIT Head of Service), Carys Roberts (ComIT/ABUHB Speech & Language Therapist) and Hannah Kingston (ABUHB Speech & Language Therapist) attended the award ceremony and were proud to receive a certificate in recognition of the accomplishment and impact on the lives of CYP with speech, language and communication needs.
