Celebrating our Sensory Communication Champions!
This year, we were proud to recognise a number of dedicated professionals and teams with a SenCom Champions Card in recognition of their outstanding commitment to sensory communication.
Our Champions have demonstrated a passion for developing their knowledge and skills, successfully implementing sensory communication strategies, and promoting the SenCom ethos within their schools and settings. Their work helps create inclusive environments where children and young people can access learning, participate fully, and achieve positive outcomes.
Individual Champions have shown:
- Completion of Sensory Communication training within the last two years
- Ongoing commitment to professional development
- Effective implementation of training and strategies in practice
- Promotion of sensory communication approaches among colleagues
- Clear evidence of positive impact on pupil outcomes
School, Phase and Department Champions have demonstrated:
- Consistent implementation of sensory communication advice, training and resources
- Adapted physical, visual and sensory environments that support pupils throughout the school day
- A whole-school approach to sensory communication, improving access to both curriculum and extracurricular opportunities
- Positive outcomes for pupils evidenced through observations, assessments and data
