Community Connector
Hello, I'm Gail, your Community Connector(opens in new tab) for the National Deaf Children's Society in South Wales.

As a parent of a deaf child myself, I understand how important it is to have the right support, information, and people around you. Based within your local community, I offer tailored support to families with deaf children of any age and with any type or level of deafness. I can provide support through Welsh, English, or with the assistance of a qualified BSL interpreter.
My aim is simple: to walk alongside families on their journey. Whether that's helping you access services, providing balanced information to support informed choices, or simply being a friendly and understanding face, I'm here to help.
By working closely with professionals, organisations, and community groups, we can ensure families receive the support they need, when they need it. Together, we:
- Support families to access the most appropriate services and resources, providing signposting to local and specialist support, while welcoming referrals from both families and professionals.
- Share trusted information, resources, and expertise on a range of topics, including audiology, education, communication options, and British Sign Language (BSL).
- Connect families with others locally, building valuable peer support networks and lasting community relationships.
Together, we are creating stronger, more connected communities where families with deaf children feel informed, supported, and empowered.
